Valdez Stops Ramirez In 3 “Body Shot”

Laredo Texas – From the Laredo Energy Center Top Rank Boxing returned to South Texas with another edition of Texas fight series which was televised on Unimas “Solo Boxeo” headlined by Oscar Valdez versus Jose Ramirez. The original main event between Jessie Magdaleno versus John Mark Apolanario fell through because Apolanario was not licensed so Valdez versus Ramirez stepped in. The former 2 time Mexican Olympian Oscar Valdez now trained by hot coach Manny Robles was on point and very sharp. From the start Oscar Valdez speed and accuracy could be seen as Valdez landed at will on the veteran Ramirez. The fight was scheduled for 8 rounds but Oscar Valdez only needed 3 rounds as he scored the KO via body shot at the 2:05 mark of the 3rd round with a vicious left. Jose Ramirez immediately feel to ground in pain and did not beat the count as the body blow was too much. The left to the body was Julio Cesar Chavez like as it was perfectly placed to the liver. With the win Oscar Valdez improves to 15 -0 14KOs and according to Espinoza Boxing will return to the ring sometime in June.

Oscar Valdez has a bright future and is a prospect worth watching as he climbs up the boxing ladder. Valdez looks to go from prospect to contender to a possible world champion in the near future. We will keep you posted and updated on Oscar Valdez so stay tuned Boxing Headz.

In other action: Esquiva Falcao scored the UD win over Omar Rojas as the judges all had it 60-54 3X for the Brazilian. Christina Fuentes got the majority win over Mayela Perez in a fight that had the crowd going wild. The final scores read 57-57 a draw and 59-55, 58-56 for Christina Fuentes. Luis Castro from Edinburg Texas but training at TNT Boxing Club with Bam Bam Najera in San Antonio scored the 2nd round TKO over Felipe Cordova at 1:32 mark to improve to 8-1 6KOs. Jessie Magdaleno already has his return date set for May 1st on the Beltran Vs Ao WBO Lightweight title undercard.
